Alauna — Help & FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Music & Playback

What audio formats does Alauna support?

Alauna supports common local music formats including MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, OGG Vorbis, and Opus. Actual playback support may also depend on Android’s available media decoders.

Does Alauna require an internet connection?

No. Alauna is designed as a local-first music player. Playing music, managing playlists, organizing your library, and most playback features work without an internet connection.

Internet access is only used for features that explicitly need online services, such as fetching metadata or synchronized lyrics.

Where does Alauna store my music?

Alauna does not copy your music into its own storage. Your songs remain in their existing locations on your device or supported storage media, while Alauna maintains its own library information for organizing and playing them.

Does Alauna upload my music?

No. Your local music files remain on your device. Alauna does not upload your music library to CodeNest Duo.

Online features, when used, may communicate with their respective third-party services to retrieve information such as metadata or lyrics.

Lyrics

Does Alauna support synchronized lyrics?

Yes. Alauna supports synchronized lyrics where timing information is available. You can also use Lyric Studio to create or edit synchronized lyrics yourself.

Why aren’t my synchronized lyrics showing up?

Lyrics can come from embedded metadata or online sources. If a song has lyrics but the timing is incorrect or unavailable, open Lyric Studio to create or adjust synchronized timestamps for the track.

Can I create or edit synchronized lyrics myself?

Yes. Lyric Studio lets you create, edit, and synchronize lyrics by adding timestamps directly to the lyrics.

Library & Organization

Why isn’t a song appearing in my library?

First, make sure Alauna has permission to access your music files. Then run Settings → Library Scan to rescan your device.

If the song still does not appear, check that the file uses a supported audio format and is stored in a location accessible to Android’s media storage system.

Can I edit song information?

Yes. Alauna includes a metadata editor for supported local audio files. You can edit information such as title, artist, album, genre, and other available tags.

Can I create and reorder playlists?

Yes. You can create playlists, add or remove songs, and reorder tracks using drag and drop.

Will my playlists survive if I move my music files?

Alauna uses its own track identity and library information to help reconnect songs when their locations change. However, moving, renaming, or replacing files can sometimes make automatic matching impossible.

Keeping a backup of your Alauna data is recommended before making major changes to your music storage.

Equalizer & Audio Effects

Does Alauna have an equalizer?

Yes. Alauna includes a 5-band equalizer with adjustable frequency bands, along with additional audio effects such as Bass Boost, Spatializer, and Reverb where supported by the device.

Why isn’t an audio effect available on my device?

Some audio effects depend on Android’s audio framework and the capabilities of the device or audio output. Certain effects may therefore behave differently or be unavailable on particular devices, headphones, Bluetooth outputs, or Android versions.

Visualizers

Does Alauna have music visualizers?

Yes. Alauna includes multiple real-time audio visualizers, ranging from traditional spectrum and VU-style visualizations to more experimental visual effects.

Visualizer availability and behavior can vary depending on the playback path and device.

Does Alauna need microphone permission?

No microphone permission is required simply to play your music or manage your library.

Some live audio visualization functionality may use additional Android audio access depending on the visualizer and playback path.

Listening History & Statistics

Does Alauna collect my listening history?

Your listening history and statistics are stored locally on your device for features such as Recently Played, Most Played, Statistics, and listening insights.

Alauna does not require you to create an account to use these features.

Can I back up my playlists and listening data?

Yes. Alauna provides local backup and restore functionality for supported app data, including playlists and listening history.

Backups are stored as files that you can keep separately from the app.

Privacy & Accounts

Does Alauna require an account?

No. Alauna does not require an account or login to use its core music-player functionality.

Does Alauna contain advertisements?

No. Alauna does not include advertising in the music player experience.

Can I use Alauna completely offline?

Yes. Core music playback and local library management are designed to work offline. Features that depend on online services, such as retrieving new metadata or online lyrics, require an internet connection.

Where can I read Alauna’s Privacy Policy?

You can read the full Alauna Privacy Policy for information about permissions, local data storage, third-party services, and how Alauna handles information.

Troubleshooting

What happens if I uninstall Alauna?

Data stored exclusively inside Alauna’s application storage may be removed when the app is uninstalled by Android. Music files stored elsewhere on your device are not deleted by Alauna.

We recommend exporting any important Alauna backups before uninstalling the app.

Where can I report a bug or request a feature?

If you encounter a problem or have an idea for Alauna, contact CodeNest Duo through the available support and community channels.

When reporting a bug, include your Alauna version, Android version, device model, and a short description of what happened. Screenshots or diagnostic information can also help us investigate the issue.
